New World Of Keflings add-on finally announced

A much-awaited expansion for Ninja Bee's Kingdom-building game

New World Of Keflings add-on finally announced
12th October, 2011 By Sarah Morris

When it originally hit the virtual shelves of Microsoft's Xbox Live Arcade last Christmas time, we fell in love with A World Of Keflings here at Everybody Plays - but once we'd finished building our kingdom and helping out all the little Kefling people, our big giant selves were very sad that it was all over. What seems like forever ago now, we heard a few murmurs that some new World of Keflings downloadable content may be set to hit the Marketplace, giving us hope of an expanded, reinvigorated World of Keflings, and making our giant selves feel warm and fuzzy on the inside - but it never seemed to surface. Slowly, as the months went on, we lost hope that we'd ever enter the land of the Keflings again, and the World of Keflings DLC was passed to the giant, ever expanding list of "Great Things That Never Happened". Until today.

I'm just big-boned...

Courtesy of an e-mail this morning, "It Came From Outer Space" is the first add-on (They say first! That implies there'll be more, right? RIGHT?!) for the Xbox Live Arcade game, World Of Keflings, which brings with it a whole new alien-themed kingdom to explore. You see, a bunch of aliens have crash-landed in the world of the Keflings, and need your help - and your mad building skillz - to help get them back home. According to Mike Nielsen, the lead designer, "You'll be building giant robots, crazy alien structures, and even robotic Keflings all in the name of repairing their mother ship" - it'll also come with new buildings, resources and of course, characters, who can hopefully live up to the previously entertaining and eccentric characters, like the King and his splendiferous vocabularying.

Oh no! The Keflings' seem to have been invaded by alien butlers...

Unfortunately, there's no release date or price available yet, although the press release does say it will launch "in the coming weeks", so it should be sooner rather than later. Considering the game itself costs just 800 Microsoft Points (about £6.80), you would imagine the add-on would be in the sub-400 Microsoft Points range - but only time will tell. We'll be sure to let you know as soon as we hear anything though!
